The Delta Chapter is a nonprofit educational society dedicated to the expressed purpose of uniting individuals who share a deep and abiding interest in the prehistory, protohistory and aboriginal history of Louisiana.

Our Goals are the following:

• Foster the scientific recovery, analysis and interpretation of Louisiana’s archaeological resources.

• Support preservation and conservation policies across the state.


• Encourage a greater public awareness of and interest in the diverse cultural heritage of Louisiana – prehistoric and historic alike.

• Provide the membership opportunities to participate in archaeological field investigations and archaeological recovery projects.


Delta Chapter continues to play an important role in unifying persons who are interested in or engage in Louisiana archaeology by offering monthly meetings with interesting programs and continuing opportunities for sharing knowledge and information.
